Distinguished Guests, Esteemed Trainer Dr. Noha, Respected DG NMIP, and Dear Participants, AssalamuAlaikum and a very good afternoon to all of you.

It is a privilege for me, on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology, to deliver these remarks at the successful conclusion of the Training on the Establishment of Calibration and Measurement Capabilities (CMC) held on 18-21 November 2025 at Marriot Hotel Islamabad — a key component of the UK–Pakistan Standards Partnership Program (2025–26).

This program marks an important milestone in our ongoing efforts to strengthen Pakistan’s scientific and industrial foundations through a modern, internationally recognized metrology system. Over the past several days, we have witnessed meaningful knowledge exchange, technical learning, and a shared commitment to excellence that reflects the true spirit of this collaboration.

Dear Trainer and Participants
This initiative is not merely a training activity; it is a strategic step toward realizing our national vision of enhanced quality, precision, and international recognition. Through this partnership, we aim to:
• Build and strengthen Pakistan’s technical competence in essential measurement disciplines;
• Expand our international footprint in the global metrology community;
• Promote cooperation through the exchange of expertise, experience, and best practices.

The training on CMC Establishment directly supports our objective of developing a strong, reliable, and globally acknowledged measurement infrastructure—an essential requirement for industrial development, scientific advancement, and global competitiveness.

Acknowledgment of Our International Trainer
I extend my profound appreciation to Dr. Noha E. Khalid from the National Institute for Standards (NIS), Egypt and BSI, UK.

Dr. Noha, we are truly grateful for your valuable contributions. Your deep expertise, clarity of instruction, and insightful guidance have greatly enhanced the understanding and capabilities of our officers. Your efforts reinforce the importance of international collaboration in advancing scientific excellence.

Recognition of NMIP and the UK–Pakistan Partnership
I also acknowledge the commendable efforts of the National Metrology Institute of Pakistan (NMIP) for organizing this program with dedication and professionalism. NMIP continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening Pakistan’s measurement systems and aligning them with international standards.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to the UK Government and the Standards Partnership Program for their continued support and vision. This collaboration embodies our shared commitment to improving global standards, fostering industrial development, and strengthening scientific cooperation.

The Ministry of Science and Technology deeply values such partnerships. Metrology and standardization form the backbone of national progress by ensuring quality, reliability, and global acceptance of our products and services.

Congratulations to the Participants
To all the officers, scientists, and participants of NMIP, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. Your dedication, enthusiasm, and active participation throughout this intensive training reflect your commitment to excellence and your determination to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s scientific and industrial sectors.

You are the custodians of Pakistan’s measurement future, and I am confident that the knowledge gained here will be translated into stronger systems, improved competencies, and enhanced international recognition.

Closing Words / Vote of Thanks
As we conclude this program, I reaffirm the Ministry’s commitment to supporting such initiatives and strengthening Pakistan’s position in the global metrology community. May this partnership continue to grow, and may our joint efforts lead to lasting improvements in our national quality infrastructure.

Thank you all for your presence, your contributions, and your dedication.

Pakistan Zindabad.
